Randeep Hooda is known for hisandid takes on Bollywood, and it looks like he’s once again voiced his criticism of the industry’s herd mentality. In a recent interview, he implying that many filmmakers and actors are more focused on superficial aspects like physique rather than meaningful storytelling.
He took a dig at the so-called “elite” section of the industry, saying they are busy building abs instead of working on their craft. Hooda has often been vocal about the lack of originality in Bollywood and has previously criticized the industry’s tendency to follow trends blindly instead of experimenting with unique narratives.
Given his reputation for intense and diverse roles, it’s no surprise that Hooda holds such views. His latest comment adds to the ongoing debate about content quality versus star power in Bollywood.
He also praised South Indian filmmakers for staying true to their cultural roots. Bollywood is currently experiencing a dry spell at the box office, with only two films this year managing to succeed.
