In a historic night Zakir Hussain won three Grammy Awards. At the 2024 Grammy Awards, renowned tabla player Zakir Hussain made history by becoming the first Indian to win three prizes in one night. His achievements included winning the coveted Best Global Music Performance award for his work on the Rakesh Chaurasia-featured song “Pashto,” which he co-wrote with Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer. With this triumph, Hussain became the sixth Grammy winner overall and joined the elite ranks of music icons such as Ravi Shankar and Zubin Mehta.
