Tensions are mounting in Model Colony over the proposed sale of the Jain Boarding property, a long-standing establishment with deep cultural and community significance.

According to reports, a portion of the property has been earmarked for sale, sparking anger and concern among community members and residents of the area. Many have expressed fears that the sale could lead to commercial construction, altering the cultural and social fabric of the locality.

Community leaders have voiced their opposition, demanding transparency in the sale process and urging authorities to protect the heritage value of the property. Some groups are also planning to approach legal forums to halt the transaction.

Residents argue that the boarding has served as an important landmark and hub for students and devotees for decades. “Selling it off for profit would be a betrayal of its original purpose,” said one local resident.

With both sides firm on their stance, the issue has quickly escalated into a matter of public debate. The outcome of this dispute is likely to have long-term implications for Model Colony’s development and the preservation of community heritage.
